椰壳活性炭制造目前最简便、并且能有效降低污染物排量的工艺途径是：先烘干原料椰壳，再破碎并去除砂石类杂物，然后采用外加热式炭化活化一体式转窑设备将其制成活性炭，二次破碎后筛选、包装。过程中产生的炭化及活化尾气在后燃室中燃烧、配备余热回收锅炉生产活化用的工艺蒸汽（一般均为过热蒸汽），低温烟气则用于原料烘干工序。
具体工序布置及能量综合利用、环保达标设施等则需要按照设计产能进行物料及热量衡算后才能最后确定。
